This Privacy Policy explains how Sir Bans-a-Lot (SBAL) ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Discord bot and related services. By adding the Bot to your server or using its commands, you agree to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Data We Collect

To function properly, the Bot automatically processes and may temporarily or permanently store certain information from Discord. This data is limited to:

  • User Identifiers: Discord User IDs, usernames, and avatars.
  • Server Identifiers: Discord Server (Guild) IDs, channel IDs, and role IDs.
  • Content Data: Message content, but only when a user directly interacts with the Bot (e.g., executing a command or using a custom prefix). We do not log or read general server chat history.
  • Bot-Specific Data: Custom server settings and user configurations.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected information strictly to operate, maintain, and provide the features of the Bot. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Execute commands and core features requested by users.
  • Remember your server’s custom configurations and preferences.
  • Maintain security and prevent spam or malicious abuse of the Bot.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

  • No Data Selling: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data or Discord information to third parties.
  • No AI Training: Your message content and data are never used to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
  • Service Providers: Data is only shared with trusted third-party hosting services (e.g., our server provider) strictly necessary to keep the Bot running.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Retention Policy: We only store your data for as long as it is needed to provide the Bot's services or until deletion is requested.
  • Automatic Deletion: If the Bot is kicked or removed from a Discord server, configuration data related to that server may be deleted automatically or during routine database cleanups.
  • Manual Deletion Requests: You have the right to request the complete removal of your data from our database at any time. To request data deletion, please contact us using the methods in Section 6.

5. Security

We implement reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system is 100% secure.
